A Touch of Autumn!

For our September Class, I chose some autumnal colours and the lovely new stamp set, Painted Harvest.
For this card we used the tri-layered stamping technique where the 3 Very Vanilla layers are placed on top of each other then the images are stamped ensuring that they go over the borders then the layers disassembled and Chocolate Chip matts are added back in between each layer.  this is the wonderful Painted Harvest stamp set which is a two-stamp image where the background of the sunflower was stamped in Crushed Curry and the detailed top layer stamped in Pumpkin Pie.  The leavers were stamped using Garden Green and cut out with the new Leaf punch.  The greeting was taken from  Flourishing Phrases.
Our second autumnal card was made using the baby-wipe technique where drops of Pumpkin Pie, Cherry Cobbler and Crushed Curry were dropped onto a baby-wipe and left to blend before using this as an ink pad to create the leaves.  This card also used a similar technique to the first where we stamped the tree trunk (stamp set Sheltering Tree  ) across two layers then removed the top Whisper White layer and stamped the leaves before re-assembling with a layer of Early Espresso in between.  The greeting was taken from Happy Birthday Gorgeous.
Our 3D project this month is a new style box I found on Pinterest called the self closing box.  It is very simple to make using the Score-board and for this we used the other leaf stamp from the Painted Harvest stamp set along with the acorn to make our own DSP.  The colours used were Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, and Garden Green. The greeting was taken from the Blooms & Wishes stamp set , punched out using the new Pretty Label punch and clipped to the box with some Burlap Ribbon and a Gold Library Clip.

April's Class - a Couple of Fun Projects!

OOps, I am running late again! Where does the time go? Well here are the projects from Aprils Class. As it was the Easter holidays, we also had some children come along too.  They made the Foxy Friends card instead of the Blooms and Wishes card.
We used the A Little Foxy DSP for the background with Pool Party as the card base.  The adorable little fox is part of the Foxy Friends stamp set which has a matching punch, Fox Builder.  The bow was made using Bermuda Bay Bakers Twine. The greeting was taken from Balloon Celebration.  The other main colours used were Calypso Coral and Basic Grey.  This is another of my favourite stamp sets and am so glad that it is carrying over to the new annual catalogue!

As it was the start of the Easter holidays, we made this cute little cracker using So Saffron card stock and ink with 1/8" Gold Ribbon.  It holds 4 small chocolate eggs.  We made the cracker using both the score board and Envelope Punch board.  The rabbit came from the seasonal set Basket Bunch (which unfortunately hasn't made it into the new catalogue).  The greeting came form Teeny Tiny Wishes.

I saw this card design on Pinterest and couldn't resist sharing it at class as it is such a fun card suitable for all ages.  The 3 punches used were Owl Builder, Tree Builder and Balloon Bouquet.  The greeting (taken from A Circle of Spring) was heat embossed in white on Island Indigo card stock.  The background was sponged using Soft Sky and Mint Macaroon ink.  The DSP used for the tree and Owl was from Blooms and Bliss DSP.  The other colours used were Rose Red, So Saffron, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake with Mint Macaroon card base.

Our final project was a 'fancy fold' card made using the score board.  It opens out so that you can put a gift card inside and is held closed using a belly band.  The colours used were Rich Razzleberry, and Sweet Sugarplum.  The only stamp set we used was Blooms and Wishes along with the coordinating DSP Blooms and Bliss DSP.  We used the Layering Ovals and Stitched framelits to cut out the greeting on the belly band.

Januarys Class

Happy New Year!
So here is the start of my New Years resolution by getting organised with my posts!
For this months class we made 3 fairly simple cards that could be used for a variety of occasions. Plus we used some Sale-a-bration items.

So here is our first project, a simple Thank You card using just two stamp sets, So Very Much from this years Sale-a-bration catalogue and Blooms & Wishes from the annual catalogue.  The flowers from this set have a distressed effect and to make this stand out more, we 'stamped off' the images to give a more subtle feel. The colours were taken from the in-colors, Dapper Denim, Sweet Sugarplum, Mint Macaron and Tip Top Taupe.

Another item that we used from the Sale-a-bration catalogue was the Carried Away DSP which goes perfectly with the new stamp set Lift Me Up from the new Spring/Summer catalogue. We also used the matching Up & Away Thinlets dies.  The colours used were Watermelon Wonder, Night of Navy and Whisper White.  The greeting was heat embossed using Whisper White embossing powder.

As Valentines Day is not far off, our 3rd card was designed to be used as a Valentine card or as a wedding/anniversary congratulations card.  The colours used were Real Red, Basic Black, Silver Foil sheet and Whisper White.  The sets used were Sunshine Sayings stamp set and its matching Sunshine Wishes Thinlet dies.  Whisper White Thick Bakers Twine was used to give the effect of the hearts being 'tied' together.  The mini hearts were punched out using the (retired) Hearts Border punch.
