New Catalogue and Projects From Our Class in May

Good Morning! Although currently its pouring with rain so not that good apart from the gardens and ponds needing it! I've had a small job recently and my time on Stampin up projects and updates has been put back a bit so today I will just give you a few updates.
Firstly, the new Stampin Up! annual catalogue came out last Monday! You can download a copy of it from the link at the side of this page.  There are a lot of new style stamps which cling better to your acrylic blocks than the previous designs.  Some previous stamp sets have been re-designed with this new concept but on the whole, the catalogue is bursting with new images.  I especially like the 'Family Party' stamp set page 62 and 'Word Wishes' dies on page 197 which both together and individually will be so useful for making personalised greeting cards. So please have a look and let me know if there are any sets that you wish to order. Plus we have a new set of In-Colors - Rococo Rose, Terracotta Tile, Pretty Peacock, Seaside Spray and Purple Posy!

Right, now onto the projects that we made in May.
This first project uses a retired set, Garden In Bloom, but is one of my favourites as it has different sizes flowers and leaves and a cute little bee and a butterfly.  I can't quite remember the proper name of this style of card which is an angled fold card.  The colours we used were Garden Green, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mango and Crumb Cake.  The greetings were taken from the Well Said stamp set and Well Written Dies.

Our second project used a technique where the background was sponged on using Bermuda Bay, Balmy Blue and Crushed Curry through a circle template.  The other colours used were Soft Suede and Flirty Flamingo.  The stamp set used was Colorful Seasons and its matching Seasonal Layers dies.
Our final card was made again using retired products but my customers had been asking to make it as it is a useful card to send for any gender and age! It uses the Balloon Celebration stamp set, Stars embossing folder and mini star punch.  The colour used was Real Red but any colours could be used.

January's Card Class

Belated projects from January (I've been having problems with either the computer or this blog and my posts keep being deleted!).  To celebrate Valentines day or any other 'romantic' occasion, we created this card using the new stamp set 'Meant To Be' from the new Spring/Summer occasion catalogue - just click on the link on the side of this page to see a copy for yourself. We just used two colours, Whisper White Shimmery cardstock and Merry Merlot ink and cardstock.  To colour in the roses/hearts we just used a Aquapainter to 'bleed' the ink form the stamped image into the centre of the image.

As we have just started the Sale-a-bration season, we used this 'Hello Cupcake' stamp set that you can get for free if you spend over £45 from any catalogue. I this that this is a good fun set to make quick and easy cupcake cards for everyone! We used the Polka Dot Basics embossing folder on a piece of Velum cardstock for the background on a Melon Mambo cardstock base. The other colours used were Coastal Cabana and Powder Pink.
As a general birthday card we created this tri-layered card using the 'Balloon Celebration' stamp set and the other main colours of Real Red and Pacific Point.

May's Class Projects

Good Morning. Here are this months projects, yes, I think I am still in the right month! I've just waved my husband off along with 10 other friends on their mopeds off for a weekend riding to Ludlow.  I hope they get there in one piece and in the dry!  What a mad lot!

Anyway, back to card making.  This month we made a card suitable for a male and could also be used for Fathers Day (18th June).  We used a lovely set that came out in the Spring/Summer catalogue and has been carried over to the new annual catalogue, Lift Me Up.  We also used the background stamp set Timeless Textures.  To give the impression of 'distance' we used the stamping off technique.  The main colours we used were Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Night of Navy and Very Vanilla.  The twine is Cherry Cobbler Bakers twine.

I had had a couple of requests to make a new baby card and what could be more perfect than this set, Moon Baby which also came out in the Spring/Summer catalogue and has been carried over to the new annual catalogue.  To give a neutral feel we used Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight and So Saffron colours.  We used the Daffodil Watercolour pencil for the moon to enable the shading effect.  The 'congratulations' came from Flourishing Phases stamp set.  The moon image was stamped in Momento ink.

Our 3rd project this month was to make a few gifts tags - you can never have too many!! We used the stamp sets Balloon Celebration and Endless Birthday Wishes (retiring).  The colours used were Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo and Pool Party with StazOn ink. We used the Balloon Bouquet and Scalloped Tag Topper punches.

Watch this space for the new Annual Catalogue which will be released on 1st June!!

April's Class - a Couple of Fun Projects!

OOps, I am running late again! Where does the time go? Well here are the projects from Aprils Class. As it was the Easter holidays, we also had some children come along too.  They made the Foxy Friends card instead of the Blooms and Wishes card.
We used the A Little Foxy DSP for the background with Pool Party as the card base.  The adorable little fox is part of the Foxy Friends stamp set which has a matching punch, Fox Builder.  The bow was made using Bermuda Bay Bakers Twine. The greeting was taken from Balloon Celebration.  The other main colours used were Calypso Coral and Basic Grey.  This is another of my favourite stamp sets and am so glad that it is carrying over to the new annual catalogue!

As it was the start of the Easter holidays, we made this cute little cracker using So Saffron card stock and ink with 1/8" Gold Ribbon.  It holds 4 small chocolate eggs.  We made the cracker using both the score board and Envelope Punch board.  The rabbit came from the seasonal set Basket Bunch (which unfortunately hasn't made it into the new catalogue).  The greeting came form Teeny Tiny Wishes.

I saw this card design on Pinterest and couldn't resist sharing it at class as it is such a fun card suitable for all ages.  The 3 punches used were Owl Builder, Tree Builder and Balloon Bouquet.  The greeting (taken from A Circle of Spring) was heat embossed in white on Island Indigo card stock.  The background was sponged using Soft Sky and Mint Macaroon ink.  The DSP used for the tree and Owl was from Blooms and Bliss DSP.  The other colours used were Rose Red, So Saffron, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake with Mint Macaroon card base.

Our final project was a 'fancy fold' card made using the score board.  It opens out so that you can put a gift card inside and is held closed using a belly band.  The colours used were Rich Razzleberry, and Sweet Sugarplum.  The only stamp set we used was Blooms and Wishes along with the coordinating DSP Blooms and Bliss DSP.  We used the Layering Ovals and Stitched framelits to cut out the greeting on the belly band.
