Sale-a-bration starts 22nd January....

that is only 5 days away!!!

Let me explain what the "Sale-a-bration" promotion is.

  • "Sale-a-bration" runs from 22nd January through to 22nd March
  • Place an order for £45 between these dates and choose a FREE item from the "Sale-a-bration" leaflet; there is an amazing selection of 17 products to choose from
  • Be a hostess during Sale-a-bration and earn extra free goodies that Stampin' Up! are giving away to celebrate 25 years in business

Here are a few cards that we have made using Sale-a-bration products...

I have used the Sale-a-bration (SAB) Stamp Set called Madison Avenue, the leaf stem stamp is accompanied by different flower heads - allowing you to swap and change your designs easily! The SAB Designer Paper is called Sycamore Street  - I have gone for the colour combination of Island Indigo and Summer Starfruit which go well together, I used Lucky Limeade for the main card. The stamped flower image fits perfectly in the NEW 2-1/2" Circle Punch; I also punched out strips of Whisper White using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch to divide the card into four sections. Hope you like it!

I love this bright and cheery card created by Hazel - very effective! The SAB Designer Paper Sycamore Street works really well; Hazel has used the Petite Pennants Builder punch to create the beautiful bunting; the colour combination used is Island Indigo, Whisper White and the main card is Calypso Coral. The Curly Cute greeting stamp finishes this card off perfectly.

Using the Stamp-a-ma-jig Hazel has created beautiful backgrounds for this card using the SAB Madison Avenue stamp set - the main flower head has been finished with a co-ordinating 3/8" Designer Printed Brad. The colour combination used is Pool Party (main card), Wisteria Wonder (flower head), Lucky Limeade (leaf stems) and Whisper White. This is a great example of how much you can achieve with just one stamp set!

A Trio of Creative Elements Butterflies

These three card designs were inspired by needing to create a swap card at a regional training. I had won the Creative Elements stamp set at a raffle was wasn't sure whether I liked it and as I had some surplus Basic Black and Basic Grey card decided to set myself the challenge of using them combined and this is the result! Now I quite like this set as the butterfly can be coloured a riot of colours using marker pens and the 'swirl of leaves' makes a good background image.  Watch out for future designs using this set.
I liked the monochrome idea of the grey and the black with Craft White ink and it was thanks to my husband Kevin to stamp the butterfly using Cherry Cobbler as a contrast.  The greeting comes from the Just Believe stamp set and is set off with Whisper White bakers twine.
The card below uses the same design but with Island Indigo, Midnight Muse and Rich Razzleberry colours.  The greeting is created using Basic Phases stamp set which is now retired.
The following card again uses a monochrome effect using Soft Suede ink, Early Espresso card and ink with  Sahara Sand and Very Vanilla card.  The Scallop Trim Border sets off the division of the contrasting panels.  The greeting comes again from the Just Believe stamp set.

Time for a Spot of Golf!

Time for a sporty card for all those golfers in your life!  For this card I used Real Red and then the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder with the Big Shot machine on Tempting Turquiose card stock for the sky and the Square Lattice embossing folder on Whisper White and then punched out a 3/4" circle to create the golf ball.  The clouds are Whisper White card punched using the topping of the Build a CupCake punch!! This is quite a versatile punch if you think 'outside the box'!  The 'hole' is a Basic Black Large Oval, the flag is Real Red card punched out using Petit Pennants builder and the 'green' is Old Olive card stock.  Whisper White card is used again for the flag pole and the greeting banner, which was stamped using the greeting from Create a Cupcake in Night of Navy. So quite a lot of punching to create a simple, bold and effective card.

Christmas Robin

Just another Christmas card using a Hostess set which I love and will hopefully use a lot over the coming months due to its versatility. The stamp set is Four Seasons and can be obtained by spending £14 (clear mount) or £18 (wood mount) from the hostess benefits gained from holding a party that earns £150 or more in sales.  This is another simple card just using Whisper White card stock and craft ink, and Cherry Cobbler card stock and ink.  I have stamped the Cherry Cobbler centre strip with the snowflake from the stamp set in Craft white ink and used the Scallop Trim Border punch in Whisper White to edge it. The main stamp has been punched out with the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle and the robin with a 3/4" circle. The greeting is taken from More Merry Wishes punched out using the Extra Large Oval and set on a piece of Cherry Cobbler punched out using the Decorative Lable. The Whisper White organza ribbon tied in a bow sets off the card and a small Rhinestone Basic Jewel added to the centre of the robin for that extra bit of Christmas sparkle.
If you would like the chance to obtain this stamp set (this card uses the winter 'season' stamp and there are three others for each of the remaining seasons, plus other stamp sets to chose from), then contact us to host a party and get some great hostess benefits!!

Festive Gift Boxes

During November and December, Alli and myself were busy at several Craft Fairs selling our cards and gift boxes which sold well and got several commissions. I thought I sould share a photo of some of them with you. They all contain festive chocolates and can be used as hostess gifts, place settings, Christmas decorations and teacher presents.  We will probably demonstrate these at our classes so don't forget to check out our events and classes pages of our blog for more details - especially our launch date on Saturday 19th January 2-4pm at The Old Endowed School, Rodborough.

DSP Christmas Tree

Before the festive season is too much in the past I thought I would post one simple card design that I made (I based this on an idea I found on www.splitcoaststampers.com) to send to lots of my friends and family. It uses just two colours, Very Vanilla and Cherry Cobbler - such a warm, winter colour combination. The greeting is taken from More Merry Wishes and is heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I used the Big Shot Top Note in Very Vanilla on which to add the basic but effective tree made from strips of paper taken from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack.  The 'pot' is some Cherry Cobbler card stock and finally the star at the top is stamped using the Itty Bitty Bits Stamp set.
