End of Sale-a-Bration

Well, this week is the last chance to earn yourself some free products for every £45 you spend with Stampin Up. So for this months class, we have been using more of the SAB products. For the first project, a card to celebrate a wedding or engagment, uses the Irresistibly Yours DSP. This is an amazing product as the 'shiny' or 'embossed' pattern of the basic white card, resists the ink so that you are left with colouring the background whilst the detail remains white! You just have to see it to appreciate how it works.  the colours we used here are Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay and Baked Brown Sugar. The stamp set is Your Perfect Day which as its name suggests is a versatile stamp set for wedding themed cards, hopefully I will be using this again at a future class so you will be able to see more of the images in this set.  We also used the cute Bow Builder Punch which makes the elements to create little bows and the Border Heart Punch.

For our second card we used a different sheet from the Irresistibly Yours DSP collection and this time coloured it with a series of different inks to give a rainbow effect.  The colours used were Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Wisteria Wonder, Tempting Turquoise and Bermuda Bay.  These colours were also used to ink the greeting and stars of the balloon stamp from the set Celebrate Today.  The main card was made using Whisper White and the backing from Blackberry Bliss. A quick way to ink the stars was by using a piece of 'fun' foam, inking it randomly with the re-inkers and therefore creating your own unique mini stamp pad.

Our 3D project could be used as an Easter treat basket or as a gift for any occasion. The Berry Basket die is very easy to use and not too tricky to assemble.  The basket was stamped with the Hardwood stamp to give the effect of being a tradional 'wooden' basket. The main colours used were Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush and Baked Brown Sugar.  The decoative stamps were taken from another SAB stamp set, Simply Wonderful and the label attached to the basket with some Coastal Cabana Thick Bakers Twine; and a ribbon made with Venetian Crochet Trim completes the look!

Februarys Class Projects

Where did the past month go? Well just a quick post today showing you what we made at our last class : -
First was using another Sale-a-bration set Big Day which is great for any age and any gender birthday card. Here we used Crushed Curry, Tangelo Twist, Bermuda Bay, Night of Navy card stock with Birthday Bash DSP and a few buttons from the Regals Designer Buttons collection and Crushed Curry Bakers Twine.

As Mothers Day was approaching, we made this side fold card using the new Painted Petals stamp set from the Spring/Summer catalogue along with its coordinating DSP. The colours used here were Blackbery Bliss, Daffodil Delight and Pear Pizzazz with some Blackberry Bliss 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon.  The little flowers were punched using the flower punch from the Itty Bitty Accents punch set and finished off with a mini basic pearl in the centre. The greeting was made using the Crazy About You stamp set which has a greeting for every occasion along with 2 flower stamps and a leaf - an ideal set for anyone just starting out in card making!

Our 3D project this month was suitable as a gift for anyone inculding mothers, a hanging notebook holder and pen.  Again this project used the same DSP as the Mothers Day card, Painted Blooms along with a piece of Pear Pizzazz Color Collections DSP.  The other colours used were Daffodil Delight, Rose Red and Crumb Cake.  The wording was made using the Sophisticated Serifs stamp set from the Spring/Summer catalogue. This is a great set as has two sizes of the full alphabet and is ideal for wedding stationary.
