Christmas Cards

In October I ran two evening classes making Christmas cards. These proved very popular and only used two different stamp sets but created 4 different designs using each set.
I will up date this post with more information later but here are the photos of the cards for now.

September Class Projects

Good Morning. Once again time has run away with me so have forgotten to post the photos of our September class projects!
We had fun creating a shaker card which was very popular.
We also made a slightly different folded card which had an off-set fold.
And to be seasonal, we made this lovely autumnal leaves card using gold heat embossing and the baby-wipe technique to create the multi-coloured leaves.

New Catalogue and Projects From Our Class in May

Good Morning! Although currently its pouring with rain so not that good apart from the gardens and ponds needing it! I've had a small job recently and my time on Stampin up projects and updates has been put back a bit so today I will just give you a few updates.
Firstly, the new Stampin Up! annual catalogue came out last Monday! You can download a copy of it from the link at the side of this page.  There are a lot of new style stamps which cling better to your acrylic blocks than the previous designs.  Some previous stamp sets have been re-designed with this new concept but on the whole, the catalogue is bursting with new images.  I especially like the 'Family Party' stamp set page 62 and 'Word Wishes' dies on page 197 which both together and individually will be so useful for making personalised greeting cards. So please have a look and let me know if there are any sets that you wish to order. Plus we have a new set of In-Colors - Rococo Rose, Terracotta Tile, Pretty Peacock, Seaside Spray and Purple Posy!

Right, now onto the projects that we made in May.
This first project uses a retired set, Garden In Bloom, but is one of my favourites as it has different sizes flowers and leaves and a cute little bee and a butterfly.  I can't quite remember the proper name of this style of card which is an angled fold card.  The colours we used were Garden Green, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mango and Crumb Cake.  The greetings were taken from the Well Said stamp set and Well Written Dies.

Our second project used a technique where the background was sponged on using Bermuda Bay, Balmy Blue and Crushed Curry through a circle template.  The other colours used were Soft Suede and Flirty Flamingo.  The stamp set used was Colorful Seasons and its matching Seasonal Layers dies.
Our final card was made again using retired products but my customers had been asking to make it as it is a useful card to send for any gender and age! It uses the Balloon Celebration stamp set, Stars embossing folder and mini star punch.  The colour used was Real Red but any colours could be used.

Easter Projects

Where has the year gone with Easter already on its way?
This month we made some fun cards and a cute little gift box suitable for giving a few Easter treats in!
First of all, a last Sale-a-bration stamp set, 'So Hoppy Together'. I saw this card design on Pinterest and thought it might be a bit tricky to create but was a lot easier than I thought. It uses Garden Green, Basic Black and Whisper White card stock, and a variety of grey and green markers for colouring in. The greeting were taken from a variety of stamp sets.

A lovely stamp set that I hear will be retiring is Best Bunny and its coordinating punch so needed to show it this month as it is perfect for Easter cards and gifting.  Here we have used the smaller 'bunny' stamp, hopping along to say hi!!  The colours used were Whisper White, Basic Black, Balmy Blue, Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzazz.

For the box we used the larger bunny image which is then punched out using the Bunny Builder punch.  Although it isn't clear in the photo, I stamped the 'present' image using Versamark on the main body of the box. The colours used were Basic Grey, Pear Pizzazz, Powder Pink, So Saffron and Whisper White with some Daffodil Delight Sale-a-bration ribbon.

Spring Time Projects!

Well Spring is certainly in the air these last few days and it seems  a shame to be sat indoors updating my blog instead of being outside but as I have been so rubbish in updating you with what has been going on with Truly Madly Stampin that I thought I should do this first!  We are now at the end of Sale-a-bration but we shall be using one more stamp set next month as it is a fun set that I am sure you will like so don't forget to book your class now for either Frampton on Friday 5th April or Selsley on Monday 8th April.
It will be time for a new annual catalogue before we know it so I need to get on and showcase some more great sets from the current annual catalogue and the Spring/Summer occasions catalogue. You can view both of these by clicking on the icon on the side of this page.
So onto the projects from March class.
With Mothers day on 31st March , we made a card that could be used for this or any occasion where a floral card would be suitable eg happy birthday or get well soon.  I also gave everyone the option of colours to use either So Saffron or Blushing Bride or a mixture of both.  We used the Daisy punch and the 1/2" punch for the daisy centres (Early Espresso), leaf punch (Garden Green).  The background was made using the Pinewood Planks embossing folder on Very Vanilla cardstock and daubed using Crumb Cake ink.  The main cardstock was Crumb Cake as well.  The greetings were take from a retired stamp set but an alternative set such Itty Bitty Greetings could be used.
We also made this set of gift cards and matching box that could be given as a gift.  We used the Butterfly Gala stamp set, Butterfly Duet punch and Gingham Gala DSP from the Spring/Summer catalogue using Balmy Blue, Daffodil Delight, Grapefruit Grove, Highland Heather, and Lemon Lime Twist inks and cardstock along with some Sale-a-bration OrgandyRibbon.

January's Card Class

Belated projects from January (I've been having problems with either the computer or this blog and my posts keep being deleted!).  To celebrate Valentines day or any other 'romantic' occasion, we created this card using the new stamp set 'Meant To Be' from the new Spring/Summer occasion catalogue - just click on the link on the side of this page to see a copy for yourself. We just used two colours, Whisper White Shimmery cardstock and Merry Merlot ink and cardstock.  To colour in the roses/hearts we just used a Aquapainter to 'bleed' the ink form the stamped image into the centre of the image.

As we have just started the Sale-a-bration season, we used this 'Hello Cupcake' stamp set that you can get for free if you spend over £45 from any catalogue. I this that this is a good fun set to make quick and easy cupcake cards for everyone! We used the Polka Dot Basics embossing folder on a piece of Velum cardstock for the background on a Melon Mambo cardstock base. The other colours used were Coastal Cabana and Powder Pink.
As a general birthday card we created this tri-layered card using the 'Balloon Celebration' stamp set and the other main colours of Real Red and Pacific Point.

Februarys Projects

Well here we are with the projects from Februarys card class. I had been asked to create cards for a variety of occasions so thought that this was a good time to showcase the stamp set 'Better Together' which had a good number of sentiments and small images for all sorts of occasions.  To also show that you don't necessarily need a lot of products to make great cards for all occasions, we used Whisper White and Smokey Slate card stock, white and silver embossing powder and some pieces of various colours to suit the card design.  To enhance the whisper white panels, we also used the Sparkle embossing folder.

As we are still in the Sale-a-bration period, we used the Botanical Butterfly DSP and Organdy Ribbon Combo ribbons to create this cute little box.  My customers had the choice of making either a Lemon Lime Twist or Highland Heather base box.
Our final project for a sombre card suitable for a variety of occasions. This used a technique whereby an acrylic block is inked, spritzed with water and then stamped on the card stock to give a mottled effect.  Next we stamped the silhouette of the tree from the 'Sheltering Tree' stamp set, hand drew the birds and stamped off the 'grass' again using a stamp from the Sheltering Tree stamp set. We then cut out the square of the profile of the stamped area and re-set it onto the card, slightly off from the original square with dimensionals to give a layered effect.  The main colours used were Early Espresso, Old Olive and Pool Party.  We finished of the Old Olive 1/8" Sheer Ribbon.card with some
