Spring Cards at February's Classes

Good Morning. I hope Spring will soon warm up, its been a bit chilly lately so here are some photos of the spring style cards we have made at our February classes.
This first one I CASEd from an idea on Pinterest and just uses two stamp sets Timeless Textures for the background and Bunch of Blossoms and matching punch Blossom Builder for the flower and greeting.  The Bunch of Blossoms stamp set is a 2 and 3 step stamping stamp set where the petals and leaves are created by layers of either tones or shades of colour.  The background colours are Basic Black and Crumb Cake, the petals used So Saffron and Crushed Curry and the leaves used Pear Pizzazz with the stamping off technique.  A large basic pearl was used in the centre of the flower.

Our second card uses a Sale-a-bration set Hey Chick. I wasn't sure about this set at first but have seen so many designs posted on the internet plus my husband thought it would appeal to peoples quirky sense of humour so decided to get it.  It also gave me chance to showcase another new introduction from Stampin Up in the seasonal catalogue - Watercolor Pencils! They are of a very good quality and the set of 13 pencils consist of the main Stampin Up colours - Basic Black, Basic Grey, Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Pacific Point, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Rich Razzleberry and Whisper White.  They can be used as just as colouring pencils (which we did for the little flower and leaves) or with the Aquapainters to create shading as shown on the chicken.  The 3 base colours were Real Red, Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie.  We also used another product that Stampin Up have decided to re-introduce - Stitched Framelits.  These come in a set of 3 shapes; circles, squares, and ovals and 4 sizes in each set, all for £27.  We also used the Layering Circles and Squres framelits.  The DSP is from another Sale-a-bration item, Carried Away DSP. The background was embossed using the Large Polka Dot folder.

Our final card was made using another new technique which I think is called Zig-zag fold. Its not very clear to see in this photo but the blue card attaches across the front half to the back part and is ideal for add an extra dimension to the card and a surface for extra embellishments.  The flowers are from another Sale-a-bration stamp Set, Avant Garden and the main colours are Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise and Early Espresso.  The leaves were cut using the Flourish Thinlets and the flowers using the Petit Petals punch.  The greeting for this Get Well card was taken from Hopeful Thoughts.
